Brigid Coleridge and Josephine Vains

We are thrilled to announce the details for our first recital, a springtime return of the series featuring two of our very finest musicians, violinist Brigid Coleridge and cellist Josephine Vains.
Join Brigid and Josephine in an uplifting and heartfelt collaboration heralding the commencement of Spring which also speaks to a spirit of renewal and rebirth. Solo and duo works by baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach wend their way between works by Australian composer Ross Edwards, Swedish jazz composer Svante Henryson, Russian icon Sofia Gubaidulina, and genre-defying American voice, Jessie Montgomery. The program concludes with a highlight of the repertoire, Maurice Ravel's Duo for Violin and Cello, in this the 150th year of his birth.
The venue for our first gathering is the elegant Main Lounge at Mineral Springs Hotel in picturesque Hepburn Springs, a spectacular jewel in the Macedon Ranges. You will find details following the artist biographies below of some special offers that the Hotel has generously made available to celebrate the return of the recital series.
We hope you will join us.

These days she performs in Australia and beyond with Firebird Trio, Accademia Arcadia, Elysium Ensemble, Ensemble Old & New, Gryphon Baryton Trio, Genesis Baroque, Melbourne Baroque Orchestra and CellOZ. A regular collaborator with living composers, she has recorded on modern and period instruments for Resonus Classics, ABC Classics, Tall Poppies and HUSH.
